Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive

Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive

In addition to the risk for mechanical, the EU has developed outside of the Machinery Directive 89/392: In order to blending European Union Member States on the permissible levels of electromagnetic interference, the European Council on May 3, 1989 between the Member States announced on electromagnetic compatibility blending of the relevant law - EMC Directive (Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive, 89/336EEC, referred to as EMC Directive), followed by 92/31/EEC, 93/68/EEC second amendment.

※ What is electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)?

In explaining the process conforms to the EMC directive before the first EMC is defined as follows:

A device or devices with other devices operating at the same time, the electromagnetic interference problems will not affect the normal working of capacity. Which include:

EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) / electromagnetic interference:

A device or devices during the operation have a negative function of the signal occurs, this signal is not wanted and does not make sense, it may come from the outside world may come from their own.

Electromagnetic interference can be divided into two directions to consider:

  · CE (Conducted Emission): transfer of radioactive

· RE (Radiated Emission): radiation, radioactive

EMS (Electromagnetic Susceptibility) / electromagnetic tolerance

A device or devices during the operation from the surrounding electromagnetic environment impacts.

Electromagnetic tolerance can be divided into two directions to consider:

  · CE (Conducted Susceptibility): transfer of radioactive

· RE (Radiated Susceptibility): radiation, radioactive

※ What equipment required to meet the electromagnetic compatibility directive?

According to Directive Article 2.1, EMC Directive applies to the object that contains all the devices are prone to electromagnetic interference, or the function itself vulnerable to the impact of electromagnetic interference equipment.

EMC directive of the three listed near the apparatus, equipment as follows:

· Domestic radio and television receivers

· Industrial manufacturing equipment

· Action Radio

· Action and commercial mobile radio telephone

· Medical and Scientific Equipment

· Information Technology Equipment

• General electrical and household appliances

· Aviation and shipping with wireless devices

• Education with electronic equipment

· Telecommunications networks and apparatus

· Radio and television transmitters

· Fluorescent lighting and

※ industrial products subject to standards of electromagnetic compatibility directive?

· EN 55011: Limits and methods of measurement of radio interference characteristics of industrial electrical device

· EN 50081-2: Electromagnetic compatibility-Generic emissions standard

Part 2: Industrial environment

· EN 50082-2: Electromagnetic compatibility-Generic immunity standard
